The Bedridden Princess is a Hero: Chapter 3: The Reality

Chapter 3

The Reality

2 months after

Sonata! Sonata!” Sanako called out to her sister who was sitting at her wheelchair at the hospital garden.

Oh Sana, What’s wrong?” Sonata asked to her sister who was gasping as she run towards her. “Did something happen?”

Mom is looking for you, Why did you left without telling us!” Sanako hissed. “You shouldn’t run off somewhere alone.”

I’m sorry. I just want to feel the wind a little so I decided to come to this garden.” She explained. “Sorry for making you worry.”

But still don’t do it again what if you’re wheelchair tripped and you got hurt? Remember you can’t hurt any parts of your body because they won’t heal!” Sana warned to her sick sister. This is part of Sonata’s illness her body can’t supplement enough to heal wounds on her body so she was always kept inside their house. She only comes out whenever she needs to go to the hospital for examinations.

I’m really sorry Sana,” Sonata said with a very sad voice.

Ok, I’ll forgive you.” Sanako said to her pitiful little sister. “Let’s go back now. The doctor is going to examine your body again.”

Sanako then carefully pushed Sonata’s wheelchair inside the hospital. Until they’ve reached the examination room.

Sonata, just stay here for a while. I’m going to look for mom.” Sana said to her sister before leaving her beside the corridor.

Sonata then quietly sat there while waiting for his sister when the wind blew making her hair flew all over her face. She started removing them on her face when she heard footstep. She thought it was her sister or mom so she thought of asking for help.

Can you help me with my hair?” she politely asked. Then she felt someone touching her hair and carefully removed them to her face. Her eyes widened when she saw someone else.

Who are you?” she blurted. The boy in front of him was surprised with her reaction. The boy run away and left her alone.

Ahh I scared him.” Sonata whispered. She was about to follow the kid when her mom and sister arrived.

Sonata, what’s wrong?” her mom asked to the girl who was trying to walk away again.

No there’s nothing,” she replied. Her mom then pulled her wheelchair so they could enter the examination room.

The examination took about 30 minutes so Sonata got a bit exhausted.

Mom, could I get a tea at the vending machine?” Sonata asked to her mom’s permission.

Okay but ask your sister to come with you, ok?” her mom replied.

Sonata then left the examination room to see her sister but she didn’t found her outside so she decided to go alone. As she was near the vending machine she suddenly saw someone at the side of her eyes. As she tried to see the person clearly the money she was holding fell on the floor making an undesirable sound that got the boy’s attention.

You again?” the boy said as the boy walked towards her.

Ah!” she blurted as she remember the kid’s face. “You were the one who’ve helped me.”

The boy started picking up the coins that fell from Sonata’s hand.

Thank you for helping me with my hair. And also, I’m sorry for yelling at you as well.” The girl politely said. “I didn’t mean to scare you”

No, it’s alright.” The boy said as he hand the coins to the girl. The boy was about to leave her alone.

Wait!” Sonata yelled making the boy stopped. “What’s your name?”

The boy stopped and faces the girl.

I’m Akemi,” The boy said. He continued walking after that leaving Sonata alone.

His face looks familiar...” she muttered while trying to remember.

SONATA!” The voice of her sister yelling as she saw her sister near the vending machine. “Didn’t I just tell you not to leave without telling us?”

Waaah! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Sonata apologized.

Even though I’ve told you a lot of times, you never listen to me!” Sanako reminded. “Well expected from you,” Sana said while pinching her sister’s cheeks.

The two then laughed after that.

Have you bought already your drink already?” Sanako asked.

No not yet, the coins fell on my hand.” She explained. “But a young boy helped me out so it’s fine already” She energetically said while showing the money on her palm.

Well if you say so...” Sanako answered. “Let’s go buy then?”

Okay!” Sonata said to her sister with a smile.

By the way Sanako...” She wants to ask something to her sister but somehow she’s confused whether she’ll ask her or not. “Ah’ no nothing...”

Okay...” Sanako answered while looking at her sister from the back. She then pushed the wheel chair to where the vending machine is.

Sonata, is there something bothering you?” Sanako asked to her sister who was acting a bit weird since she saw her at the hospital corridor.

Eh? Why did you asked?” The girl answered to her sister’s question making Sana anxious.

Well you’re acting weird since a while ago, if there’s something you want to say. Can’t I be the one to listen to you?” Sana asked with a very sympathizing face. “I want to know Sonata’s real feelings,”

The girl who was sitting on her wheel chair becomes silent. Somehow she looked like she’s thinking a lot.

Sanako, I’m sorry for always worrying you.” Sonata apologizes. “It’s just that I’m worried about the boy I met a while ago. He seemed sad.”

What boy?” Sana asked.

The boy who had helped me out with my hair and also the one who picked up the coins for me a while ago,” Sonata explained. “I felt like his lost and his eyes were dull,”

And you’re curious about him?” Sanako said with a grin on her face.

Eh? How did you know?” Sonata asked.

Well what do you expect from our little girl here who’ve never fell in love yet?” Sonata answered with a smile on her face.

LOVE!” Sonata exclaimed. “Impossible! That boy is just a kid I mean he looks like he was around 11-13 years old only!”

But he looks mature and cute, right?” Sanako teased. “And thought he’s cool for a moment when he passed on me,”

Did you saw him?” Sonata asked.

Yeah, when I was looking for you I passed on him near the corridor. I think he is a patient here because he entered one of the rooms near the alley and the way he dressed.” Sana further explained. “Do you want to see him?”

Really?” Sonata asked out of excitement. “Can I give him a drink to thank him for helping me with my hair and the coins as well?”

Sure!” Sanako replied. “So which one should I get?”

Sanako asked while standing at the front of a vending machine looking seriously at the drinks arranged in front of her.

I want CC Lemon!” Sonata answered to her sister who was waiting for her. “And you can get the same for the boy.”

Sanako then put the coins inside her hand to the coin hole and pushed the button for the CC lemon. She does it twice.

What about you, Sana?” Her sister asked when she saw her stopped after buying the 2 CC Lemon. “Aren’t you getting any?”

Nope, I’m not thirsty yet.” Sanako answered. “Let’s go?”

Okay!” Sonata answered while her sister handed the two CC Lemon to her.

The two then went to their way to the boy’s room when they saw a doctor came out of the room.

Oh! The Minako twins,” The man in robe greeted.

Doctor Nakazawa!” Sonata greeted. Sanako then bowed her head to show respect to the doctor.

Are you here for your examination?” The doctor asked.

Yes, Doctor,” The young girl replied with a smile on her face. “What about you, Doctor?”

Oh me? I just finished checking Akemi’s health.” The doctor answered.

So he’s name was Akemi?” Sonata blurted.

Do you know him?” The doctor asked.

Yeah, I met him a while ago he helped me out twice.” The girl explained with a very passionate smile.

Ah really? Well I’m glad then. That kid never spoke to anyone before and he’s always run away from people. Even though he had been here for almost 2 months already he never opened his heart to anyone. So we’re kind a losing our hope to find his family.” The doctor blurted. “Oh I’m telling thing I shouldn’t, Sorry”

No, its fine I want to know things about that kid, Doctor,” Sonata said with a very passionate eyes to the Doctor.

Really? Then I’m glad you’re here. Please be Akemi’s friend, ok?” The doctor said as he pats Sonata on her head. The Doctor then left after that.

Sonata, Let’s go?” Sanako asked.

Okay...” She excitedly replied. “But would you mind if I enter alone?”

Then I’ll just wait here then...” Sanako replied to her sister.

After that Sonata entered the room by pushing the wheel of her wheel chair. She then saw the boy standing quietly near the window, he staring blankly at the blue sky.

Do you love the sky?” Sonata asked to get the boy’s attention.

Upon hearing Sonata’s voice the boy looked back to where the voice is coming from.

What are you doing here?” the boy said as he jerked back.

Ah! I’m sorry for surprising you again,” Sonata apologized. “I came here to thank you for helping me out.” The girl politely said to the boy who’s acting strange.

The boy just ignored her and started walking away but Sonata held his hand making him snap back pulling Sonata.

Booogsshhh...” A loud sound of something fell on the floor.

Ouccchh...” Sonata said as she holds her left hand who got hurt when she fell. She stumbled on the floor when Akemi pulled his hand away.

I’m sorry...” The boy apologizes to the girl who fell on the floor. “I don’t have intention to hurt you,”

It’s alright but can you help me return to my wheel chair before someone enters?” Sonata said with a smile on the boy. “It was also my fault for touching you, I’m sorry as well,”

Okay...” The boy then helped Sonata return to her wheel chair by supporting her from her armpit making Sonata’s grown breast touched his body making him blushed. After helping Sonata sit on her wheel chair he jerked back a little. “Did it hurt somewhere?”

Nope! I’m fine thank you,” Sonata said with a smile on her face.

I’m glad then” The boy said without looking at Sonata.

You’re a nice kid..,” Sonata commented. “But why do you looked lonely?”

The boy just kept silent making Sonata felt anxious. She pushed herself near the boy who was standing in front of him. When she was near him already she held the kids hand, his hand that was wrapped with bandage.

What are you doing?” The boy exclaimed. He didn’t snap back his hand like he did a while ago because he was scared that he got the girl hurt again.

Ah, sorry!” The girl apologized. “I just thought of holding your hands because you look really sad.”

The two stayed like that when someone suddenly knocked surprising the two inside. The two looked to where the door finding Sanako standing there.

I’m sorry for disturbing the two of you but I think we should go back now, Sonata. Mom will be worried if we don’t return now.” Her sister said while grinning to the two. She then closed the door again.

The two was left blushing when they’ve remembered the position they were in now.

I’m sorry, I have to go already.” Sonata said as she pushed herself near the door. “Goodbye Akemi!”

The girl said before leaving the boy inside his room startled by the thing he just found out but before he realize it the girl already left.

She’s the girl on my dream. She’s the girl I’ve been looking for.” Akemi muttered on is self. “She’s Sonata...”

Sonata, is there something wrong?” Sanako asked as she pushed her sister’s wheel chair. “You’re sweating.”

No I’m fine...” She replied though the truth she was hurting. She was trying to keep her swollen hand from her sister. The hand she bumped on her wheel chair when she fell a moment ago.

Sanako, Sonata!” her mom called out. “Where did the heck did you two went, I’ve been looking for you!” Her mom yelled.

I’m sorry M...” Sonata tried to explain but the pain from her hands stopped her. She can’t endure it anymore, so she fainted because of pain.

The Bedridden Princess is a Hero: Chapter 2.5: The Meeting

Chapter 2.5

The Meeting

Where am I? “ Akemi asked to his self while trying to stand up. After the crash he woke up in an unfamiliar room. He’s body is still aching and almost half of it were bandaged. He was about to leave the bed when the door opened.

Hey boy!” A man wearing a white robe said. “You shouldn’t move yet,”

The man helped Akemi to sit on the bed.

Who are you?” Akemi asked. “Where am I?”

You’re at the hospital right now,” He answered. “I’m Doctor Nakazawa. I’m an intern at this hospital. We found you 2 days ago at a park near this area. You’re body was badly hurt and almost half of your legs was burned. Though until now we don’t reason for those wounds and what really happened to you.”

What hospital? Where is this? I should tell my father as soon as possible or else...” Akemi blurted in panicked.

You’re here at Clairemont Hospital. I’m sorry we’ve tried to look for information about you but we all failed.” The doctor explained in an anxious voice. “We couldn’t find your parents whereabouts either.”

What do you mean?” Akemi asked. “My father is the 4C Lover’s CEO so it’s easier to find him. And my name Kuroh Akemi, from the Kuroh Family.”

Yeah, we tried to find for information about that company too. Look...” The doctor said while handing something to the boy.”

We saw that inside your bag. It was your identification card, right? We used that to locate your family’s whereabouts but we found out that there isn’t anyone named Kuroh Akemi here in Japan. And what’s more confusing is the fact that you’re born on year 3088.”

What’s wrong with being born on that year, Doctor?” Akemi exclaimed.

Look at here...” The doctor demanded while pointing on to the calendar beside Akemi’s bed. “You know it’s only year 2997 now. So it’s really impossible for you to be born on that year. We tried looking for someone named as your father but we didn’t find anyone.”

Eh? It’s impossible. Its year 3100 already... Why? I’m confused...” he said holding he’s head who’s in pain. “This is impossible...”

I think you have to calm down first. You’re body is still unstable so you must not force your body yet. Let’s talk about yourself after your body recovered,” The doctor suggested. “We’ll never stop looking for someone who knows you, so please be a good boy and rest for now.

The doctor calmly said to the little boy. He then helped the boy so he could lie on the bed. The boy kept silent the whole time so the doctor decided to leave him alone so he could rest.

What’s happening? I’m confused... What happened to me?” He muttered to his self, tears beside his eyes came out. He wiped it with his hands.

Please don’t cry...” a familiar voice whispered.

As he heard the voiced he hurriedly removed his hands from his eyes. His eyes widened to see Aiyuu standing in front of him. So he hurriedly sat to see the girl properly making his leg ache.

Oucchh!” he exclaimed. Aiyuu then gave him a hand in sitting which Akemi snap back.

Don’t touch me! What are you?” He exclaimed. “You’re the reason that I’m here, right?”

I’m sorry, D...Akemi but I didn’t mean for this to happen.” The girl said with a very anxious yet sad voice. “I didn’t mean to hurt you. You’re the only one who can help me so I had no choice,”

What do you mean?” he yelled. “What do you want from me?”

I think it’s time for me to explain everything,” Aiyuu calmly said. The boy just waited for the girl’s explanation.

It was true that I’m the one who’ve sent you here but I didn’t mean to make your body suffer. My power is slowly fading and soon I’ll completely fade, as well as my body and my memories if the thing affecting my future continued. So I need your help to stop the person affecting it!” The girl explained.

What do you mean? Why me?” Akemi exclaimed. “I’m just a normal boy. I don’t have power with me.” His eyes widened again when he saw the girl’s body starting to fade.

You can do something because you’re my... Please trust me, Akemi. Please find Sonata and change her future. She mustn’t dwell on with the life she has now. She must find a reason to live because she’s the holder of our time. She’s the only one who can help you go back to your time. So please find her...” The young girl said with tears on her eyes before she fades completely.

Damn! What’s happening to me?” Akemi hissed. He closed his eyes because of tiredness and before he noticed he already slept in to slumber.

I’m tired,” the girl who was sitting at the bench said while looking at the night sky. The girl was blankly staring at the stars when a tear started dwell out of her eyes. She started crying hard with a loud moan that shook my heart.

As I saw her tears my foot moved on its own somehow my body acted weird. I was standing beside her already but she didn’t notice me. So I decided to get her attention by talking to her.

Are you hurting somewhere?” I asked surprising the girl. She suddenly jerked away from me.

Who are you?” the girl asked. “Why are you here?”

I’m Akemi, I saw you crying so I thought of asking you,” I explained. “Are you okay?”

Yeah, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to yell at you.” She apologized. “I was just surprised because this is my dream.”

Your dream? So I’m inside your dream then.” I said. Somehow I felt weird because I can’t help talking to the girl nicely. “Can you tell me the reason for those tears?” The girl then looked at me with a confuse face before she opened her mouth to speak.

Today, I lie to everyone again.” She answered.

Lie? What do you mean?” I asked out of curiosity.

To tell you the truth, in real world I’m a bedridden because of an unknown illness. For 10 years I was kept inside that room waiting for the day of my death.” She explained with a husky voice.

So what lie did you make again?” I asked to know her reason for crying.

Because I don’t want to them to worry so I kept lying to them that I’m having fun, that I’m happy yet the truth I’m very lonely, I’m scared, I’m exhausted and I hated my life!” The girl exclaimed. After saying those words her tears exploded out. She cried like a small helpless child. She looks more fragile than the first time I saw her.

Somehow inside me felt pain for her sufferings so I held her inside my arms? Her body was so fragile that I’m feeling scared of holding her tight because she might break any moment. She smelled really good and her body felt cold yet warm inside my heart. And somehow my tears started dwelling out as well.

Are you crying?” the girl asked. “Do you pity me?”

No, but somehow I could understand how you feel. And it hurts me as well...” I answered.

Thank you.” The girl stopped from crying and faced me. She then wiped the tears on my face after that she stood up and acted to leave.

I have to go now, Akemi but I’m glad I met you....” she whispered to my ears. “Let’s meet on the real world,”

Wait! what’s your name?” The boy shouted to the leaving girl. The girl looked back and muttered a few words Akemi couldn’t hear before vanishing at the darkness of the night without a trace.

When Akemi opened his eyes he was inside the hospital room again.

A dream...,” he muttered. He touched his face to notice that there were real tears dwelling out of his eyes. He wiped them off as fast as he can.

He then stared blankly at the wall in front of him, he was thinking about the dream he just had.

Who is that girl? Why am I feeling her pain as well?” He muttered before closing his eyes again and returning to his sleep.

The Bedridden Princess is a Hero: Chapter 2: The Unexpected turn of Event

Chapter 2
The Unexpected turn of Event

Ruromiya Trade-in’s Building, Tokyo, Japan
April 20, 2997

“Booogsshhh....” The sound of box falling on the floor filled the small storage room inside the Ruromiya Trade-in’s Building.
“Imari, are you alright?” The manager of the Ruromiya Trade-in’s Company asked.
“I’m fine, Sir. My hands just slipped a bit.” She explained.
“That’s why I told you not to do those work. Why don’t you just let Yuuya finish them and rest for a while?” The manager suggested. “And also if Yuuya arrived could you tell him to deliver this to the Minako residence?”
The manager handed a medium size box to Imari before he left the employee inside the storage room. Imari was about to put the box at her table when she felt someone’s presence in the room.
“Show your self!” she yelled while position herself on her combat mode. “I know you’re here!”
“Expected from the descendant of an Ancient Mage,” A familiar voice said to Imari who’s on a position of defense. “It’s me, Imari.”
The girl said before showing her form to the young mage.
“Ai... Is that you? What are you doing here?” The young mage asked. “Where have you been for this past 10 years?”
“It’s a long story but first could I ask you a favor?” The girl named Ai asked.
“What is it? Tell me...” Imari replied to a long lost friend. “You know we wouldn't say NO to the person who've helped us a lot,”
“Thanks,” Ai politely said. “Here...” She said as she handed something to Imari.
“What is this?” Imari asked as well out of curiosity. “What should I do with it?” she added.
“Please send it together to the Minako residence,” She explained. “Make sure that my mo...Sonata will get a hold of it,” Ai explained. Her voice somehow started to become strange.
Imari was about to ask more question to her friend when Ai’s body started to fade making her anxious.
“What’s happening to you?” Imari said while panicking.
“I’m sorry, Imari but I don’t have time left to explain everything. I’ll disappear from this world forever if the time inside Sonata won’t move so you have to make sure Sonata will get a hold of the package because she’s my...” Ai’s last sentence was cut off when her body vanished into small crystal that went to the sky.
“Ai!!!” Imari shouted as her friend vanished in front of her.
“Imari what’s wrong!?” Yuuya who've just came back from a meeting, heard Imari yelled so he runs to where the girl is.
“What happened to Imari, Sola?” Horina asked to his boyfriend who was supporting her twin sister who’s crying a lot. She just came there after seeing Yuuya run to the storage room.
“I don’t know. I just came back here when I heard her yell so I run here as fast as I can.” He explained.
“What’s wrong, Imari?” Horina asked to her sister.
“Horina!” she yelled as she hugged her sister tightly. “Ai...Ai...  She’s gone!”
“Calm down, Imari,” Horina said while supporting her sister so she could sit on the chair inside the storage room. “Tell me what happened,”
“Ai came here a while ago. She asked me to do her a favor but after explaining her reason. Her body... her body started to fade into crystal ashes before she completely fade she said something like the time and history is changing and she’ll vanish forever if the thing affecting the movement of time isn’t destroyed.” Imari explained before bursting into tears again.
“It is the time inside that girl, Sonata.” Imari added.
“You mean someone or something is affecting the time movement. That means even the two of us will fade too if the thing changing the time isn’t destroyed.” Horina muttered.
“Waaaaaah” Imari yelled. “It’s starting, Horina!”
“So it has come to this.” Horina calmly said as her body started fading too. She looked straight without any worries on her eyes to her boyfriend in front of her.
“Sola, I’ll leave everything to you. Make sure the kid Sonata got the package. I trust you, my beloved...” Horina said before the two completely vanished.
Yuuya was left stunned by the sudden changed of event but he decided to stand firm because he is the only one left to protect the time. So he hurriedly picked up the thing Ai left and run towards the Minako residence before his memories fades away as well.
He runs there without looking back somehow inside him he felt like that little by little his memories started to vanish as well. When he finally reached the house he rung the bell furiously but somehow there were things he couldn’t stop. His head started aching and his memories started to be erased. He then decided to leave the package in front of the door when he heard someone went out of the door.
He left the gate as fast as he can.

“Who’s there?” Mrs. Minako asked. She heard the door bell ringing furiously a while ago so she hurriedly went to the gate but there’s no one there. The woman looked around but she found no one so she decided to go back when she saw something near her feet. She picked it up and saw her youngest daughter’s name written onto the box so she brought it inside the house. Trying to check what’s inside, she shook it a bit, when she heard no sounds inside, she left it at the table to bring to her daughter’s room after cooking their dinner.
“I’m home!” Sanako yelled as she opened the door to their house.
“Welcome back, Sana” Her mom greeted. “Go and get change so you can eat your dinner already. I’ll be preparing your sister’s medicine so would you mind preparing your food on your own?”
“And by the way could you also give the box at the table there to your sister?” her mom added.
“Okay, mom,” the young girl said after picking up the box for her sister. She left after that and went straight to her sister’s room which is in the 2nd floor of their house just beside her room. She knocked about 3 times when she heard Sonata talked.
“Come in!” Sonata shouted.
“I’m back, Sonata!” Sana said with a smile to her sister who’s sitting on her bed holding her laptop again. “What are you doing?”
“Ah, I’m researching about the new gadget that just came out yesterday. It looks cool...look,” Sonata said to her sister who’ve just came back. “I asked dad to get me one and he promised to send it to me by Thursday. I’m really excited” Sonata said with a big smile on her face yet Sanako felt like her smile was empty.
Sanako hugged her smiling sister tightly and pat her head. “You’re really cute!” she commented. The two of them laughed after that when they’ve realized that the compliment goes for the both of them because they are identical twins after all.
“By the way Sonata, mom asked me to give this to you and also here’s the pudding and the book you’ve asked me to get for you.” Sana reminded to her little sister.
“Thanks, Sana,” Sonata said. “By the way, how’s school Sana? Did Ryouma and you had a fight again?” Sonata teased.
“Well, it was still the same. I had to attend student council meeting and practice archery at the same time so I was bit tired today.” She answered disappointingly. “And with Ryou, he was busy with his club activities so I didn't meet him.” She added.
“Oh, so that’s why?” Sonata whispered to herself while grinning. “That’s why you’re a bit down today, huh?”
“What do you mean, you little!” Sonata threatens her sister with the tickle attack when the door suddenly opened. The twins looked at the direction of the door.
“Okay, you two stop now. Sanako go and get change already the food is going to get cold. “Their mom said. “And Sonata here’s your medicine and food. Eat up and drink your medicine, ok?”
“Yes Mom!” The two said at the same time. Sanako left the room first after giving a hand sign to her sister that she’s leaving. While her mom left after putting the tray of food and medicine on the table and set them in front of Sonata. She silently eat and drunk the medicine. After finishing almost just half of the food, she pushed the moving table on the side so she can put her laptop on her lap. She started surfing the net again.
There’s a secret that Sonata had been hiding from her family. It was the fact that she is working with the government through computer hacking. It all started when she was 10 years old when she accidentally entered a site for people who want to learn dirty hacking or illegal hacking. She got interest on it when she found out that she can see the outside world without going out for real through the surveillance camera around the world and computer she’s using. Since then she started learning illegal hacking and once on her way in looking up at the world. She accidentally tapped a discussion between a terrorist hacker planning to sabotage Japan’s Power Management System that can cause the whole Japan to lose their electricity. And can affect the life of many people. She was the one who sabotaged the attempt on hacking, making her a hero at the age of 12. She was called Sleeping Princess by everyone because of her way in hacking. She loves to sneak at night. And for her the darkness of the night is the best time for her attacks. The government then hired personally through an online confidential chat. She told them about her circumstances and the reason for her in using hacking. But she kept silent about her real identity by putting a gas masked on her face. The payment she received on her work was all given to the charity she stated to the government. She received nothing from them. One of the charities she chose was the one her family created for her sake. The charity goal is to create a cure for her illness and to further investigate about her unknown illness. But up until now only she has the case of the specified illness. So the invention somehow won’t advance because there’s no other source.
She sleeps more at day time than night because of work. She never intends to tell her mother about her work because she’s sure that her mother will be against it but she doesn't intend to stop because this is her only way to be part of the society. Even just being behind the big screen of her laptop she can walk outside freely without having to leave her chamber. She can see how the world she could never touch.
It was already 2AM when she felt tiredness so she decided to put her laptop on stand by and kept it beside her bed when she noticed the box lying at the table beside her bed.
“Ah, the box Sana brought,” she thought. She picked it up and opened it carefully. She was surprised to see a small iPod size gadget inside the box. It’s an advance one because you can attach it on your wrist like a watch. It was something she hasn't seen or hasn't been released on the market. She took the box again and looked around it but there’s no information regarding the product. The box just has her name and a 4 leaf clover logo that looked familiar to her, below the logo a “4C lover” is written. “Did I order this?” she asked herself. “Aaahhh, maybe this is from Rei” she though so she put them on and turned the switch on but nothing happened. She removed the small sized iPod from her wrist and returned it back on the box which she hid inside the drawer beside her bed. She released a sighed out of disappointment. She went to sleep after that.

“Are you still thinking about what your father said?” Usagi said to the young boy who had been acting strange since the meeting this morning,” I know your father didn’t mean what he said. I’m sure of that!”
The young girl said trying her best to cheer the boy beside her.
“Thanks Usagi.” Akemi politely said.
Maki Usagi, 12 years old, is a 3rd year middle school student at Mische Academy like Akemi. She is t the only daughter of the owner of Maki Trading Company. And like Akemi she currently being trained at 4C Lover Company. She is Akemi’s girlfriend and as well his future wife. She is a very lovable and nice girl who’ll do everything for the person she likes.
“No, I’m glad I could help you.” She answered with a very big smile on her face.
The two then continued walking until both of them arrived at their destination. They were about to enter the office when the door on the other side opened and a woman came out.
“Oh! Usagi, you’re already here,” The woman said.
“Mom!” Usagi shouted as she run towards the woman. “Since when did you come back?”
“I came back last night because something occurred on the invention field.” She explained. “How are you, Akemi?”
“I’m fine, Mrs. Maki,” Akemi replied with a kind voice and bowed his head a little.
Maki Yanami, 33 years old, is the mother of Usagi and the wife of the Maki Trading Company’s CEO.  She is a famous doctor who works at the Invention Department of 4C Lover Company. She is also working in a hospital in Germany at the same time.
“I’m glad.” She answered. “By the way, I’ll be going first. I’m going home to get a bit of rest.” The lady said before leaving the two again.
“Have your mom told you about their invention?” Akemi asked. He was very curious about the invention his father and Akemi’s mother had been working for these past years. Up until now the thing had been confidential for them.
“No, but I’ve heard it was about a project called Sonata.” Usagi explained. “But I still don’t know the other details though.”
“So it was the same to you...,” The young lad said with disappointment in his voice. He had been curious about that Sonata project that his father and his ancestors had been working for the past few years. Though he knows that someday the day that he’ll be doing the same will surely come. The urge inside to know the thing he had been cursing since her mother’s death.
At the age of 5 Akemi’s mother died in a car accident. His father never showed up at the burial since then he hated his father especially the Sonata that took all of his father’s time. Up until now the reason for his living was to destroy that project. He never plans on succeeding his father position at all.
“Akemi, Let’s go?” Usagi invited. The two then entered the office for the ND Department Members.
Now they were working for a game gadget called “VSR Gamepod” a gadget that can create another body of the user in the game field where she/he can move freely on the virtual world called Mische. The game field is like the real world yet everything are made by programs.
“Ake! Usagi!” the senior member called out to the young members who’ve just arrived a while ago.
“What’s wrong, Reon?” Akemi asked politely. “Is there something wrong with our new gadget?”
Dreii Reon, 15 years old, is a 3rd year junior high student at Haname Technology Center Academy. Like Usagi and Akemi he also came from a good family and is under strict training at 4C Lover Company. He is a good friend of Akemi and Usagi.
“No, there’s nothing wrong,” he answered. “It’s just that the trial version of VSR gamepod is already finished. Would you give it a system try?”
“Okay, sure.” He replied. “Just put it on my table I’ll try it out later after passing the contract to the other department.”
“Then I’ll just leave the rest to you.” Reon said. “I’m going back first because I have a class this afternoon. Bye Usagi! Ake!” The young lad said before leaving the two. The two was about to sat on their chair to their jobs when the door suddenly opened again. The two both looked at the direction of the door.
“Hi guys! Did you see my brother?” A girl with a short hair and pale white skin asked.
“Oh, Aimie!” Usagi greeted to the girl who was standing near the door. “Reon just left a few minutes ago. He said his going to school already”
Dreii Aimie, 13 years old, is a 1st year junior highschool student at Haname Technology Center Academy. She is the younger sister of Reon and Usagi’s bestfriend. She is also a member of ND Department who is working for the outside affairs of the department.
“Eh? Is that so?” she confusedly asked. “I hurriedly went here to tell him about the thing he asked me yet he’s not here. What should I do?”
“I think he have something important to do cause he was a bit in a hurry” Akemi explained. “Try calling him?”
“I can’t... he left his phone at our house this morning.” She explained. “What should I do? I have to hurry to the airport now,”
“If you want you can just leave it here then. I’ll give it to him later on my way home.” Akemi suggested.
“Oh, Really? Thanks!” The young girl politely said. “I’ll leave it to you then, Ake! By the way would you also try that gadget, ok?” The young girl asked before leaving the two in a hurry.

“Where do you think she’s going this time, Akemi?” Usagi who’s is seated now asked.
“I think her destination is Greece this time,” Akemi replied. “Famiel asked her company to buy some materials there for our next project.”
The young boy explained while arranging the 2 gadgets inside his back pack.
“By the way, Usagi,” Akemi called out.
“Why?” The young girl who stopped from typing something in her laptop asked to her boyfriend who suddenly called her.
“I’ll be going earlier than usual today. Are you going back with me? I can at least drop you at your house,” He suggested.
“No, I still have few works I need to finish today and I’m also going to the Finance Department later to pass the report regarding the VSR.” Usagi replied. “You can go ahead.”
“Ok, but don’t push yourself so much, ok?” The young boy demanded kindly to his fiancé.
“Ok, thanks,” Usagi said with a sweet voice making Akemi smile a little.
The two then started to work making the whole office filled with the sound of keyboarding tapping and paper movements. It continued for almost an hour when the sound of a moving chair sounded inside that Department.
“Usagi, I’m going now,” Akemi said to his girlfriend whose eyes were all focus at the screen of her laptop.
“Ok, take care on your way back,” Usagi said. Her eyes were still on the laptop screen even after his boyfriend left.

“Sir Akemi, the car is waiting at the entrance gate. I’ll guard you there,” Akemi’s driver said to his young master with respect. As his young master went to the side of the car, the driver opened the door at the back seat so her young master could enter already.
Akemi entered from the right back seat of his black BMW. As he was on its way to enter the car, a limousine suddenly stopped at the back of their car. Akemi stopped to see who’ve just came.
The driver seat’s door of the limousine opened and a young man wearing a black suite that looks like the limousine driver went out and opened the door on the back seat. From that side a woman went out together with a young girl aged around 15-17 years old based on her height. She was wearing a simple gothic style black and pink stripes dress and somehow half of her face was hidden with a pink gas mask. Her eyes were beautiful with its sky colored contact lens. Her skin was pale white and she looks very fragile somehow just by looking at her makes a person wants to protect her. And with her long black silky hair leaning on her pure white yet pale skin she looked like a real goddess. Akemi felt his heart almost skipped a beat for a moment there.

“Sonata, let’s go?” The woman who looks like the girl’s mother talked. The woman aged around 35- 40 years old and somehow she doesn’t resemble any traits of the young girl beside her. “Just hold onto my arm, ok?”
“Thank you, Lisette.” The girl politely replied. The girl then hold on to the old lady’s arm while walking. The two then entered the 4C Lover Building leaving the young boy startled there.
“She’s blind?” Akemi whispered to his self feeling a sudden pain inside his chest. He pitied the young girl yet it felt different, a feeling he can’t distinguish yet. A familiar feeling yet he can’t define.
“Sir Akemi, Is there something wrong?” The bodyguard asked to his young master who seemed to be acting strange.
“No, it’s nothing,” the young boy said before entering the car. “Send me to my house, Kon but before that I’ll drop by Haname Tech. Academy to meet Reon,” The young master coldly explained to his driver.
“Ok, sir,” The driver then started the engine and took the road calmly. It will be a half hour of trip to reach their destination and another hour to his house so Akemi decided to open his laptop to do some work.
He stayed like that for the whole trip when the car suddenly stopped.
“Sir Akemi, we’ve arrived.” Kon said to his young master whose eyes were all inside his laptop screen.
“Ah, is that so?” The young master coldly replied. “Ok, I’m going now. Wait for me here.” The young boy said before coming out of his car without his driver’s help. He then walked toward the gate to talk to the guard when a young girl suddenly showed up.
“Is there something I can do for you, little boy?” The young girl said politely to the young boy.
The girl stands around 5’4 – 5’6 in height, and based on her uniform the girl seems to be a 3rd year student at this school. She has a long wavy black hair yet half of it was tinted with brownish red dye yet they’ve looked genuine. It suits her white pure fragile skin somehow Akemi felt like she met another goddess in this girl. Her eyes resembled the eyes of the girl he just saw a while ago.
“Hey!” the girl exclaimed. “Are you alright, little boy?”
“Ah, sorry I spaced out and please stop calling me little boy.” Akemi blurted making the girl laughed at him.
“You’re weird and cute, I like you.” The girl complimented to the strange boy, making the young lad blushed. “By the way my name is Aiyuu. I’m a 3rd year student in this school and the Student Council President. What about you?”
“I’m Kuroh Akemi, a 3rd year middle school student at Mische Academy. It’s my pleasure to meet you.” Akemi introduced. “And I’m here to see Maki Reon to hand something important to him. He’s the same year as you, Miss Aiyuu,” he explained.
“Oh, just call me Ai. I’m weak against honorific.” She demanded with a smile.
“Okay, Ai” The boy said in a low ashamed voice making the girl laugh again.
“You’re really cute.” Aiyuu commented. “By the way if you’re looking for Reon I can show you the way to their room.”
“Really?” he asked.
“Of course!” The girl replied with an energetic voice. “Let’s go!”
The girl then pulled Akemi’s hand to lead him inside the campus when suddenly Aiyuu became strange and snapped her hand back from holding Akemi’s hand startling the young lad for a few seconds.
“I’m sorry, something felt weird inside my body.” The girl apologized.
The girl then took Akemi’s hand again and led him inside the campus. They’ve continued they’re stroll for about 5 minutes when they’ve finally reached a big building called Athena Dream the two stopped.
“You can see him there,” Aiyuu said as she pointed the room on the 2nd right from the south at the 3rd floor of the building. “I’m sorry but I’m not allowed to enter the Athena Dream building so I can only accompany you until here.”
“Eh, is that so?” The young lad said in surprise because somehow the girl showed a painful face. “It’s alright I can go alone from here, thank you for accompanying me here.”
“Then I’m going now, Goodbye.” Aiyuu said with a low voice at Akemi’s ears. The girl then kissed the young lad on his cheek making the boy stunned there before fading away in Akemi’s back.
“I’m wishing for the happiness of the two you. Till then my...”  The girl whispered before fading somewhere.
Somehow Akemi felt like the girl smiled beautifully to him making him felt undefined happiness inside.
“Oh! Ake, What are you doing here?” Reon shouted as he saw his friend standing blankly in front of his room building. “What’s wrong?”
“Oh nothing!” Akemi exclaimed. “By the way here,” He said as he handed a small box to his friend. “Aimie wants to give that to you but she was in a hurry so she couldn’t come here,”
“Ehh is that so?” Reon replied. “By the way can you keep and try it out for me instead?” His friends said while handing some wrist watch figure gadget to him.
“That’s a teleportation gadget that our class invented were planning to submit that on Weaponry Department but I have to configure some parts first but today I have a meeting with the student council president so I can’t test it now. Would you test it out for me?”
“Ok sure, I’ll test it out at our testing field later.” Akemi replied. “By the way can you say thank you to the student council president for me?”
“Oh sure! But why?” Reon asked. “Did you know her?”
“She’s the one who helped me out so I was able to see you.” He explained. “But she left after sending me here. I weren’t even able to thank her properly because she left in a hurry.”
“Okay I’ll tell Yuuki.” He said before leaving his friend there. “Bye!”
“Wait Reo!!” Akemi shouted to his friend who was walking on its way to the Student Council Room. “Isn’t your student council president’s named Aiyuu?”
“No! Her name is Catherene Yuuki!” Reon answered before fading on his sight. Somehow he was startled by his friends answer because the girl she met awhile ago introduced herself as Aiyuu.
Suddenly a cold breeze of wind enveloped his whole body making him feel a sudden chill from his toe through his shoulder. He then decided to leave the place without looking back until he reached the car where his driver is waiting for him.
He entered the car in a hurry and asked his driver to drive him home.
“Who was that girl then?” He thought on his mind. He was about to get his laptop to start working again so he could forget about that girl and that incident when the car suddenly lost its control and......

Find Sonata... I’m sorry, D...I’m...I love. a familiar voice muttered into his ears and the face of a girl she met a while ago showed up on his mind before he lost his consciousness completely.

“Little boy! Little boy! Little boy!” An unfamiliar voice of a person shouting beside my ears and I can hear people’s foot steps. I tried to open my eyes but my whole body felt tired. It felt like a run from a long marathon, that I went from a long journey. I can’t even lift the lids of my eyes so I just gave in with the tiredness inside me.

The Bedridden Princess is a Hero: Chapter 1: The Beginning

Chapter 1
The Beginning

St. Clairemont Village, Tokyo, Japan
April 20, 2997

“I’m going now, Sonata!” Sana shouted to get her twin sister’s attention who is sitting at her bed beside the window on her room. She was staring blankly at the blue sky outside her room through the window again, Sana thought. “Is there something you want me to buy on my way back?” She pitied her sister so much, making her chest sting.
Minako Sanako, 15 years old, a 3rd year Junior Highschool student at St.Catherene Junior High Academy. She is the 2nd child of Minako residence. She is a very nice, beautiful and energetic girl. She loves her younger twin sister so much though there were times she envies her a lot for getting everyone’s attention.
“Then would you mind getting me the new volume of “Creative Life” by Haname Aiyuu,” she answered to her older sister who is standing in front of their house, now she is looking at her older sister. “I also want to eat milk pudding and cream puffs!” She demanded with a smile.
“Okay I’ll buy them for you on my way back!” Sana answered with an energetic voice while running on her way to school. She stopped after a few meters away from their house before looking back to see her sister again. She then waved at her with a big smile on her face.
“Take care on your way there.” Sonata whispered to the wind before her sister fades away as the young girl took a turn at the corner of the street. For Sonata this day is just one of her usual day. She can’t go to school like Sana because of her chronic yet unknown illness.
Minako Sonata, 15 yeas old, the younger twin of Sanako. Because of her illness she became bedridden and mostly stayed at home. Her body was currently fine except the fact that she can no longer walk since her illness started to attack her body.
It all started when she was 5 years old when her family went on a vacation in her grandmother’s place in a province in Hokkaido. It was a day her family can never forget, the day they’ve found out about Sonata’s illness.

While playing with her sister and brother, Sonata suddenly fell into the stairs. She was carried over to the hospital because she hit her head straight to the floor which became a big mystery to them especially to her mom who is a doctor. As we all know when a normal human fell or tripped, we usually use our hands or arms when supporting our body from falling yet on Sonata’s case she doesn’t have any bruises on her hands and arms which mean she didn’t use them or she weren’t able to use them at that time. The doctor then told them about Sonata inheriting an illness called Mische. An illness that doesn’t have a cure yet and information about it are still limited at that time. The specialist then told them that her body will start losing its ability to perform the things she normally does like standing and walking on her own. And sooner or later her ability to speak, move, see, smell, hear and feel will all most likely be gone someday and it’ll cause her death. Up until now the only thing the technology can give to her was medicines that can slower her death. Until the medicine that can cure her illness is discovered she has to bear the reality that she’ll vanish in this world soon. But with the help of her family somehow she was able to cope with the changes in her body putting her at ease even for a bit of time.
Sonata was once an energetic girl like her sister Sanako. She loves to read books and manga, watch dramas and anime as well as collecting gadgets. Like her twin sister, she is indeed a beauty and due to her confinement inside her room she has a very pure white skin yet a fragile body. And because she can’t go to school like a normal girl she has a home tutor that came everyday to teach her so when the time that the cure for her illness is discovered she can go back to reality without having any difficulties. That’s the kind of life she had been living for these past 10 years.

She was about to lay down again when a knock on her room door surprise her. She hurriedly sat back and waited until the door opened.
“Sonata, I came with your medicines.” Her mom said as she entered her bedridden daughter’s room holding a tray with a glass of water and a few bottle of medicines. “Do you want to eat something before drinking your medicine?”
Minako Shynne Miki, 38 years old, she is the mother of the Minako siblings. She is a very kind mother and wife. She was once a doctor in a prestigious hospital in Germany where she met her husband and the father of her children. She is half German and Japanese and was raise in Germany but she can speak Japanese fluently due to her mother’s influence. She decided to come back in Japan with her husband when Reiiki was born and continued working in a hospital there. Right now she stopped from working at the hospital to give her support to her sick daughter. She also helps in inventing a medicine to cure her sick daughter.

“No, Mom I’m not hungry yet,” she answered with a polite voice. “By the way Mom, did Rei called?”
“Yes, he called this morning but he was in a hurry so he just told me to say hi to you.” Her mom answered. “And also he sent a package for you and Sanako. He said it’ll arrive here after 3 days.”
“Really?” she asked with sparkling eyes and a big smile on her face. “If Rei called again can you say thank you for me, Mom?”
Minako Reiiki, 23 years old, a 3rd year student at Rutherford Medical University in Germany. He is the older brother of the Minako twins. He took up medicine for the sake of finding a cure for his sick sister. He is a very loving brother but due to the fact that one of her sister is in beneath of death he became biased to Sonata making Sanako drifted away from him. He isn’t just great inside; he is also indeed a hottie outside like his siblings.

“And also please tell him give me a call sometimes.” She added. Her voice was asking politely.
“Sure, I’ll tell your brother,” Her Mom said while preparing her medicine on the side table beside her table so she could easily grab and drink them. “Here’s your medicine, please drink them, ok? I’ll return to get them later,”
Her mom said before leaving her daughter alone in her room.
“Thanks, Mom,” she whispered to herself. Once again the room was filled with deafening silence. Sonata stared blankly at the blue sky outside through the window of her room again.
“I want to go out too,” She said with a low yet disappointed voice before releasing a big sighed that felt like she was holding the whole world in her two fragile hands.
She continued like that for about 5 minutes when she got tired of it and decided to drink her medicine already. She picked up the white bottle first and opened it carefully. She tapped the bottle down until 3 pieces of white small tablets went out. She put them all inside her mouth after that she took a sip of water from the cup beside. She does the same thing with the other two medicine bottles. After drinking everything she decided to lie down to take a short nap. It was only a few seconds after she lay down when she felt her consciousness slowly drifting away making her fully slipped to slumber.
While....
